Home Condition Reports


The Government is introducing Home Information Packs (HIP's) to improve the process of buying and selling a home.

Currently this can be a stressful and costly experience, which is prone to delay and failure.

From 1st June 2007, all home owners in England and Wales will need to arrange for a HIP to be prepared before putting their homes up for sale.

The Home Condition Report is a key part of any HIP. In fact, it is the only 'new' piece of information that isn't currently already required to sell a home. It is designed to be a 'mid-range' survey, similar to the current Homebuyers Report but a lot more extensive than a mortgage lenders valuation survey.

APA Survey Ltd's chartered surveyors will be ready for the introduction of HIP's and will provide a HCR for your house. We will advise you on:-

  • The general condition of the property taking account of its age, character and location.
  • How energy efficient it is
  • What defects, if any, it has and any other matters requiring attention.
